Captain kaufMOM: What I Wore on a Cruise

April 13, 2019 by No Comments

I just returned from the high seas. One of my best friends is getting married this May (congrats Vic!!!) and we cruised from New York to Bermuda together to celebrate.

The last time I cruised, I did so with Mickey Mouse and 200 cousins when I was about 14. This experience was a little bit different. Unlimited food, beverages, shows, entertainment. Plus constant Wi-Fi for instagram-storying and facetiming my little shmush. It was a week for the books. And this is what I wore…

1. Leopard Loungewear

I couldn’t imagine wearing a two-piece after my first hour taking advantage of the specialty dining package. And at 7-months postpartum, a flattering, patterned one-piece came in clutch. This particular piece also had its advantages – with extra ties for staying power – when I flew down one of the water slides at the end of day 3…

2. Ring Hero

It’s not that I don’t trust the safes in hotels or cruises. But I like my favorite bling on me at all times. And my mom just introduced me to this game-changer. From the pool to the pirate ship bar, this baby never left my wrist.

3. SPF higher than my age…

Now that I’m 30, I don’t mess around. Even on the overcast, cloudy, windy, and rainy hours of the trip, my face was covered with an SPF at least 25+ my own age.

I’m also always constantly reapplying sunscreen to the tops of my hands. And shoulders. I can never get enough…

4. Bachelorette swag

At the end of the day, I wasn’t just there for myself. I was there for my best friend Victoria! As one of her many best friends, I had to be decked out in designated gear for impromptu photo opps and embarrassing antics.

#kaufMOMhack: Use the sailor hat to disguise an otherwise messy hairdo by day 3 of any cruise.
