3 Companies I can get Behind Right Now

March 17, 2020 by No Comments

The threads of reality seem to be unraveling. And yet in the midst of this week’s terrifying news cycle and depressing email inbox, three companies took control of this nightmare narrative by paying it forward.

So let this brief blog post be a break from the negativity. I had to share the first 3 companies I can get behind right now:

Seamless

Seamless is arguably the one and only business that might promise to get us through this pandemic. And now it doesn’t just offer to feed us. It working to support our favorite restaurants too.

In an unprecedented and selfless move, Seamless decided to defer its typical commission fees for impacted restaurants.

This decision made me rethink the implications of COVID-19. Now I really think that many of us have the ability to help each other through this. And we will.

The Founder & CEO of Seamless on his decision:

With dine-in down as much as 75%, local restaurants need our support more than ever. As their partner, it is Seamless’ responsibility to step up during this difficult time. So, we are deferring commission fees for impacted independent restaurants.

Delaying our revenue will increase the restaurant’s cash flow, allowing them to pay their employees and weather this difficult situation. We are also matching all promotions run by independent restaurants with our Smart Promotions feature, to help make their investments in growth twice as effective.

To provide additional financial relief for our drivers and restaurants, we created the Seamless Community Relief Fund. With this fund, all of your Donate the Change contributions will go to charitable organizations that support drivers and restaurants impacted by the coronavirus outbreak.

LVMH

LVMH is now a “world leader” in more than just luxury goods. The best news story that broke in the past 24-hours might have been the google alert from WWD that hit my inbox noting that The luxury group announced that starting Monday, all the production facilities of its Perfumes and Cosmetics division will be used to manufacture hydroalcoholic gel.

Delta

While travel might be at the very end of everyone’s “to-do” list for the foreseeable future, the immediate communication from – and press surrounding – Delta’s CEO made the airline my eventual favorite mode of transportation.

Rumor has it that the airline’s CEO is foregoing his own salary for 6-months to avoid a series of inevitable layoffs. And the airline’s continual communication has been nothing short of warm at a time when everything seems too chilling to be real.
