KaufMOM Crush: Tarte Cosmetics
This beauty obsession celebrates the flaws that make me the mom that I am. But also helps me conceal a few of them ;).
I’m a full-on fangirl for this brand’s eco-friendly ingredients, working-mom CMO (#momgoals), and hilariously positive attitude. Color me crushed.
I’ve always opted for natural ingredients and minimal application when it comes to makeup. And my husband, son, and mirror tend to dig my semi-natural vibes. But Tarte reminded me that even the most natural, cruelty-free, and basic beauty routine can still be FUN.
I’ve been using (and loving) Tarte for a few years. So I basically flipped when I received an invite to a Mama’s Masterclass with the epic brand. The social media director, friends of the brand, and marketing masterminds behind Tarte led the morning. And they took the time to spark a few honest connections between working women in New York City who live multifaceted, family-first, and work-driven lives. Some of us knew how to apply highlighter in between meetings and others were just generally tired – and in major need of a concealer upgrade.
As a new and working mom, I don’t always have the time to properly primp. But Tarte took the time to teach a few working moms this week the busy beauty basics – like how to use a sheer primer, with or without without a tinted foundation. For those days when you just want to moisturize, prime, cuddle your cutie(s), and GO.
Editor’s Note: All of Tarte’s products are cruelty free and created WITHOUT parabens, mineral oil, phthalates, triclosan, sodium lauryl sulfate, or gluten. And to celebrate that, you can shop my favorite selects for 20% off with the code LEYAxTARTE from now through 7/4/19.
These are my Mama Must-Haves:
If I were stranded on a desert island and could only pick one makeup product, it would be an epic mascara.
And since I’m a makeup minimalist, I’m all about a simple one-step primer. Tarte professionals at our class promised that this sheer base tape formula could also be used with or without a tinted foundation.
But that minimalist makeup shtick is really only possible on those days where my skin seems to glow. And those days start with a skincare routine that includes a face oil.
And an eye cream that brightens and de-puffs also has the magical ability to turn any mom into a model. And this one brings me from tired-to-wired in the best way.
But sometimes I’m also willing to fake it until I make it…with makeup. So I opt for a lightweight concealer to cover dark circles. And this one is legitimately creaseless like its name promises.
I’m honestly pitching for the next Mama’s Masterclass to teach me the art of the perfect contour. But I’ll start practicing in the meantime with a casual palette of full-size highlighters, bronzers, and blushes.
