1st Trimester: Pregnancy Playlist
For many pregnant women, the first trimester is a stressful, deceitful, and uncomfortable experience. It’s usually a phase that lives between lies to coworkers, anxiety-ridden doctor’s visits, and bouts of nausea. So I can only hope that this makes one or two of you in the thick of your 1st (& worst) trimester laugh. And if you need someone to talk to, message me! Full transparency, I didn’t have the worst first trimester. I didn’t experience crazy food aversions or morning sickness. And I didn’t have any life-altering food cravings. But I began a love affair with pasta and I had a desire to cancel every single social obligation on my calendar. I didn’t want to see anyone or do anything that required a lie (i.e. No wine for me, thanks…). I was a Bad Liar just like Selena Gomez and I couldn’t wait to tell everyone in my life the news. But I was too nervous to confide in anyone too early.
My anxiety was a little bit crippling in the beginning too. But I continued to workout and just kept it light at the gym. And I started to workout with many of the songs on this playlist. They provided a little escape during my brisk walks or uncoordinated jiggles on the elliptical. I loved the solitude, musical humor, and consistency of my gym-time during this awkward pregnancy stage. So I hope you do too.
