18 Things I’ve learned from my 18 Month Old
It’s the cutest, craziest time. And I’m learning every single day. As a parent, I always thought I’d be schooling my offspring. But my son imparts his perspective and newfound knowledge about the world with me on the reg.
A few things I’ve learned to date:
- Every time you’re happy, you know it.
- Blowing a kiss is a pretty foolproof approach to getting your way.
- The washing machine really is the coolest, most mysterious part of our apartment
- The best foods are always handheld.
- Everything in the world can be a toy if you try hard enough.
- The best books are always worth re-reading. Again and again and again.
- A pancake isn’t worth swallowing if it isn’t drenched in syrup
- There’s nothing worse than getting out of a bath.
- There’s nothing better than french fries.
- Legos are cool AF.
- It’s possible to look dapper in a diaper.
- *Sometimes* sharing is a b*tch.
- It’s possible to do more cardio on a playground than in a gym.
- Why walk when you can run?
- Almost all of an apple is edible.
- Cuddling is clutch.
- When you gotta go, you gotta go.
- The best suit…is the birthday suit.
And a few of our latest must-haves:
…because legos really are cool AF. And they can be fun for the entire family. Ezra’s first lego set was a total win.
And yes, getting out of the bath really is the worst. So we’ve decided to prolong bath time by an extra 5 minutes each day and make it twice as enjoyable with insane toys like this.
Evidence would suggest that my son went straight from crawling to running. But now that he’s more certain on his feet, he’s sprinting. And for those super active days, he rocks a shoe with a little extra cushion.
